Our aim is to make Photo London a key destination for everyone who is equally intrigued by the rich history of photography and fascinated by future directions of the form. The Fair is a place to encounter the most innovative emerging artists, new work by established masters and rare vintage pieces, and as such is guided by a Curatorial Committee comprised of some the field’s most esteemed curators, critics and museum directors.
This year’s Curatorial Committee includes:
Chair: Philippe Garner – Former Director at Christie’s and International Head of Photographs and 20th Century Decorative Arts and Design
Vince Aletti – Photography critic, writer, and curator, a regular contributor to Aperture, Artforum, the New Yorker, and Photograph
Martin Barnes – Senior Curator, Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London
Robin Muir – Writer, curator and exhibitions arranger. Former Picture Editor of Vogue, currently a Contributing Editor and consultant to the Vogue Archives
Sofia Vollmer de Maduro – Director and Curator of the Alberto Vollmer Foundation collection
Sebastien Montabonel – Founder/Partner of Montabonel & Partners, Post-War & Contemporary Art Consultancy
Discovery Curator: Tristan Lund – Art consultant and curator, collection curator of The Incite Project, a UK based collection of photojournalism and documentary photography. Previous Director of Michael Hoppen Contemporary, Tristan also represents a select group of emerging photographic artists.
A platform for young galleries, emerging artists and work that pushes the boundaries of the medium, our Discovery section 2017 will feature more galleries than ever before, in an expanded, dedicated space.
