First Pre-Fair Talk announced: Publishing and the Photo Book: Shaping Modern Photography
This panel discussion will be the first in the series of pre-Fair talks in the lead up to Photo London 2017. (18 – 21 May 2017)
Wednesday 19 October 2016:
Publishing and the Photo Book: Shaping Modern Photography will be an exploration of the role of photo books and what they contribute to the wider culture of photography. Additionally, the panel will question how the knowledge of reproduction techniques informs the making of the work itself, and whether the digital distribution of books represents the future of the medium.
The panel will include:
Aron Morel, of MÖREL BOOKS, Hannah Watson, of the publishing house, Trolley Books and the gallery, TJ Boulting and The John Radcliffe Studio – the creative partnership of Daniel Castro Garcia and Thomas Saxby, 2 young photographers who specialise in photography, film and graphic design and have spent the last year documenting the refugee and migrant crisis in Europe. Their work on the Migrant crisis has recently been made into a book Foreigner: Migration into Europe 2015–2016, which is published by MACK.
