Tokyo Eyes
It’s been more than two years since we began to wear face masks on a daily basis. One day, there was a moment when I was struck by people’s eyes above the mask being so beautiful. Since then, I started to photograph people wearing face masks. Each of these portraits revealed the sitter’s true mind. In some cases, sitters had a desperate, pleading look. Have we overlooked such looks of eyes until now? True feelings that eyes communicate by themselves without being interrupted by other parts of the face or words are messages that knock on the doors of our hearts.
