Curatorial Committee Chair Announced
We are delighted to announce that Philippe Garner, former Director at Christie’s and International Head of Photographs and 20th Century Decorative Arts and Design, will Chair the Curatorial Committee for the third edition of Photo London.
Speaking of the challenges facing the committee as we approach the third edition, Philippe said ‘I look forward to chairing the Curatorial Committee. We will work closely with the exhibitors to ensure displays of unimpeachable quality and wide-ranging interest that will consolidate Photo London’s already established reputation as a major international draw for collectors, curators, and the merely curious.’
This year’s Curatorial Committee includes:
Chair: Philippe Garner – Former Director at Christie’s and International Head of Photographs and 20th Century Decorative Arts and Design
Vince Aletti – Photography critic, writer, and curator, a regular contributor to Aperture, Artforum, the New Yorker, and Photograph
Martin Barnes – Senior Curator, Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London
Robin Muir – Writer, curator and exhibitions arranger. Former Picture Editor of Vogue, currently a Contributing Editor and consultant to the Vogue Archives
Sofia Vollmer de Maduro – Director and Curator of the Alberto Vollmer Foundation collection
Sebastien Montabonel – Founder/Partner of Montabonel & Partners, Post-War & Contemporary Art Consultancy
The Curatorial Committee are looking for the highest possible standard of work at Photo London’s 2017 edition; we expect fierce competition for places and galleries are strongly encouraged to apply ahead of the application deadline on Friday 30 September.
Our aim is to make Photo London a key destination for everyone who is equally intrigued by the rich history of photography and fascinated by future directions of the form. The Fair is a place to encounter the most innovative emerging artists, new work by established masters and rare vintage pieces. Photo London returns to Somerset House 18 – 21 May 2017.
