Booth Event – Almudena Romero

Leaves from The Pigment Change
Inside the Pigment Change with Almudena Romero
Trained as a 19th century photography expert, Almudena Romero’s current practice uses photographic processes occurring in plants such as photosynthesis and photoperiodicity to create art that grows, fossilizes and disappears – ephemeral photographs that emerge and evolve to question our relationship with nature. The fragility of her artworks embeds a comprehension of photography as a performative process serving reflection and self-expression. Almudena’s new work for Photo London uses resin casting to preserve this life cycle.
Join Almudena on Friday 16th May as she takes up residency on House of Bandits’ booth to learn more about her use of the light-based processes found in plants that promote a more expansive understanding of the photographic medium, beyond the usual digital vs analogue dichotomy.
