Leica Presents: Britta Jaschinski

Saturday 20 May 2017
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Screening Room, Somerset House

German-born Wildlife Photojournalist Britta Jaschinski gives an insightful expression of the animal’s identity and individuality, an almost devout fascination with the animal’s spirit.

Britta is based in London, UK, but her passion to protect animals takes her across the globe to reveal otherwise untold stories about animal suffering. Her work is published and exhibited worldwide, with over 25 solo shows. She has won a number of international awards.

She was the grand title winner of the European Wildlife Photographer of Year award and has been a BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year finalist at several times. She received the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photojournalist Award: Single Image in 2015 and was a finalist in 2016.

Britta is a speaker at photography festivals across Europe and lectures on photography and animal conservation issues.

Her most recent work documents wildlife items people try to smuggle across the globe.
