Join Esther Teichmann in conversation with David Campany as they discuss Teichmann’s large-scale photographic and filmic works examining ideas of loss, grief and desire. Understand how Teichmann’s exploration of the origins of fantasy are bound within the representation of space within her artworks, from which emerge fragmented narratives, blurring autobiography and fiction. The discussion will also consider how Teichmann’s work extends beyond the conventional bounds of photography, incorporating painting, sculpture and film to create immersive installations, creating imaginary worlds that envelop the audience. Teichmann will also introduce her latest projects, including a monograph of visual works and writing, forthcoming by Stanley/ Barker.

Esther Teichmann works across still and moving image as well as sculpture and painting. She is head of Programme for the MRes and Coordinator for Critical and Historical Studies at the Royal College of Art.

David Campany is a writer, curator and artist, working mainly in photography, as well as teaching at the University of Westminster.
