Global platform NOWNESS creates and curates the best in arts and culture short-form video. With a diverse, international audience of more than 20 million people per month, our passion is profiling, connecting and nurturing the world’s leading and emerging creatives, including the most exciting photographers and directors.
This spring NOWNESS is collaborating with the UK’s largest photography exhibition to profile transdisciplinary vanguards making the leap from still to moving image. Join us on Saturday 18 May for a program of screenings and a live panel discussion.
11.00 am and 1.30pm – Photographers in Focus
Explore life behind the lens with ‘Photographers in Focus’, a NOWNESS original photography series capturing the lives, processes and work from some the world’s greatest photographers.
Includes a special episode with Stephen Shore, Awardee of the ‘Master of Photography Award’ at Photo London 2019.

12.00pm – This is Documentary
A screening of awe-inspiring, challenging and thought-provoking films that premiered on NOWNESS, exploring how moving image can be a vehicle for compelling, international storytelling.

3.00pm – From Frame to Film
A screening of work by photographers who made some of their first films with NOWNESS; get an in-depth look at transdisciplinary vanguards who have taken the leap from still to moving image.

4.15pm – From Frame to Film
A filmmaker panel discussion led by NOWNESS Video Commissioner
Shelley Jones, with Emmy-nominated Freddie Paxton, Yumna Al-Arashi – a photographer championing the self-expression and strength of women, US based Victoria Hely-Hutchinson and Dazed 100’s Maisie Cousins, a photographic artist recently exhibited at Tate Modern.
