Black Shade Projects

Marrakech

Maroc

An art and exhibition platform centred around photography and photo-based work documenting visual culture from Africa and the diaspora. An important body of black and white photographic works is represented, highlighting the Malian golden era of studio photography to which prominent names such as Abdourrahmane Sakaly, Malick Sidibé and Adama Kouyaté are often associated.
It delivers pop up projects internationally that are committed to uplifting previously silenced African artists and connecting their perspectives to the diaspora, as well as championing emerging talent.
BSP represents the estates of Adama Kouyaté and Abderrahmane Sakaly.
