Salary £28,000 to £32,000 per annum
Photo London is a major international art fair specialising in photography, which takes place annually each May at Somerset House, London. Photo London is produced by Candlestar, a renowned cultural consultancy with an exceptional reputation in the field of photography and the arts.
Photo London’s outstanding Public Programme of talks, commissioned installations and exhibitions has played a significant part in the success of the Fair to date.
We are seeking a Public Programme Coordinator responsible for the delivery of Photo London’s critically acclaimed Public Programme.
Reporting to the Fair’s Directors and working as part of a small team of highly committed professionals you will be responsible for managing relationships with the Fair’s venue partner, artists, galleries, curators and suppliers.
You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Public Programme from initial scheduling of content, managing a budget, negotiating deals with contractors and suppliers, overseeing production onsite, arranging travel for participating artists and speakers, and developing relationships to help shape the future of the Public Programme.
The role will involve working closely with the Fair’s Directors, to develop artistic content for Photo London and to produce a high quality Public Programme which is exciting, engaging, grows audiences and is delivered on time and within an agreed budget.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate with previous experience in the arts or a similar creative environment. You will possess diplomacy, excellent organisational and communication skills and have a positive approach. Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent with some experience of delivering projects to strict deadlines and the ability to remain calm under pressure with a flexible approach to work.
