Join our team! We’re looking for a Fair Manager

 

We are now seeking to build on the successes of the last decade through the appointment of a dynamic individual as Fair Manager. Your job will be to assist the Fair Director in all aspects of delivering Photo London. You will act as the dedicated gallery liaison and will develop relationships with participating galleries and carry out all communication with exhibitors.

You will complete the necessary administrative and operational tasks to execute a successful fair. You will be the point of contact for each department to ensure they are receiving the necessary information including Marketing and Communications, Accounting, PR & Press, Production, VIP and the Design team. This is an important multifaceted role that will help us to ensure the effective production and future development of the Fair.

Works with Fair Director / Production Manager /  Partnerships & Comms Manager

Salary Competitive based on experience

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Acting as dedicated gallery liaison to prospective and participating exhibitors, answering queries and assisting in completion of all compulsory forms within strict deadlines.
  • Assisting the Director and Fair Founders with recruitment of galleries.
  • Communicating between participating galleries and our marketing team to ensure the promotion and marketing of year-round programming.
  • Working with the Fair Founders and Director to develop public programming
  • Managing public programme exhibition production, liaising with exhibiting stakeholders and Production and Design teams, updating and issuing agreements, and ensuring PR and Press team have up-to-date information.
  • Maintaining the gallery database and work with the Director on the preparation and distribution of exhibitor application packs and preparation of Exhibitor Portal.
  • Working alongside the Production team to prepare and distribute all exhibitor packs/manuals/guides, ensuring essential forms and booth orders are processed with contractors accurately and that the build is delivered to the highest standard of quality
  • Project managing delivery of Fair Catalogue, Exhibitor and Contractor pass printing, and Partner sponsored award displays.
  • Helping with the organisation of the Curatorial Committee meetings, preparing application reports and presentations, taking minutes, etc.
  • Overseeing annual timeline and Teams calendar, preparing weekly team meeting agendas, taking and distributing minutes
  • Line managing temporary staff in the months leading up the Fair, including Exhibitor Assistants and Talks Coordinator/Manager

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

  • Qualified to degree level or show equivalent experience.
  • Can demonstrate excellent accuracy and attention to detail in work produced.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in project management within the cultural sector (arts-based background or knowledge and understanding of the commercial and not-for-profit art world, including commercial galleries, private and public museums, and cultural institutions in the UK).

DESIRABLE

  • Existing contact list of galleries
  • Sales experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Photography industry
  • Experience of WordPress, Mailchimp and Insightly
  • Exhibition Production experience
  • Fluent in a second language other than English
