Katy Grannan is an American portrait photographer, known for her gritty and honest portrayal of marginal people. She talks to Phillip Prodger, Head of Photographs at The National Portrait Gallery, London, about her photographic practice and her first feature-length film, The Nine, an intimate and sometimes disturbing portrayal of aspects of American society most prefer to ignore.
