LA FÁBRICA AND PHOTO LONDON LAUNCH THE SECOND EDITION OF THE BOOK DUMMY AWARD

Following the success of the Award’s first edition, both institutions join forces again with the aim of selecting and publishing a major auteur photography project that stands out for its quality uniqueness and international scope.

The winning work will be published and distributed worldwide by La Fábrica and presented at Photo London 2019 and PHotoESPAÑA 2019.

The winning project of the first edition was Villa Argentina by Arunà Canevascini, which was presented in May at Photo London.

La Fábrica and Photo London join forces again with the aim of selecting and publishing a major auteur photography project that stands out for its quality uniqueness and international scope. Once again, the award will have the participation of the printer Brizzolis and the British Journal of Photography, the Award’s official journal.

The Swiss photographer with Iranian roots Arunà Canevascini won the last edition of the Book Dummy Award, in 2017, with her work Villa Argentina. It is a visual exploration of the relationship between the photographer and her mother, set in the family house in the South of Switzerland, “Villa Argentina.” Canevascini’s mother is an Iranian artist who spent her childhood in Tehran as a secluded child, a condition of isolation that she somehow replicates in her life as an adult and to which the photographer makes reference in this unique work of color photography. It was presented at Photo London 2018 last May, and PhotoESPAÑA 2018 in June.

Any photographer from any country in the world is welcome to participate. They must submit a single unpublished dummy on the subject of their choice before 19 November 2018.
