England & Co has a research-based curatorial approach: we work with artists and photographers’ archives and curate retrospective and collective exhibitions that reappraise artists and photographers from the British and international avant-garde spanning the 1930s through to 1980s. Many of these artist/photographers use photography as a medium for documentation and in relation to conceptual practice or performance. We advise and sell works to collectors and institutions, curate exhibitions in varied locations, participate in art and photography fairs, represent several artists’ estates, and initiate projects, with a focus on continuing England & Co’s consistent sales and exhibition loans of significant artworks to British and international museums and institutions for over three decades.
