Each room, like each life, is unique.
The image of a space is a record and also a kind of mirror. The woman is absent, yet present.
The photographs serve as a memory of each landscape,
and each woman, at a particular point in time.
I wanted to show the possibilities of life within
and beyond the walls, and during and after the time
when those walls were most needed.
