Thames & Hudson Presents: George Hoyningen-Huene – The Photographer Who Defined An Era
Specialists Susanna Brown, William A. Ewing and Keith Lodwick discuss the life and legacy of George Hoyningen-Huene (1900-68), one of Vogue’s first and most influential fashion and portrait photographers. During his glittering career in Europe and America, Hoyningen-Huene collaborated with the likes of Cecil Beaton, Horst P. Horst and Lee Miller, and befriended Hollywood’s brightest stars. He travelled the world and published books of his images from Greece, the Levant, Mexico, and the African continent. This talk celebrates the major new publication George Hoyningen-Huene: Photography, Fashion, Film, the first book of the photographer’s work in four decades.
