Founded in 2007 by Adélie de Ipanema and Edouard Genestar, Polka Galerie is located in the heart of Le Marais district in Paris. With a total surface area of 300 sq. meters divided in two spaces, the gallery hosts a program of ten to twelve exhibitions per year, both in-house and off-site, which questions the different forms of the photographic medium, within modern and contemporary practices. To date, the gallery represents the work of more than fifty French and international photographers. Among them, world-famous names such as Sebastião Salgado, William Klein, Elliott Erwitt and Joel Meyerowitz. But also promising young artists such as Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre, Miho Kajioka, Paul Cupido, Alexander Gronsky and Eloïse Labarbe-Lafon. The gallery also collaborates with dozens of associate photographers, all marked by the desire to use the medium to explore a documentary context.
