FILM: Don McCullin in conversation with Isaac Julien
Don McCullin, who was recently named as the Photo London Master of Photography 2016, speaks in conversation with artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien at the Photo London press launch on the 27th November 2015.
This interview explores McCullin’s work from his early years in the East End of London, to the landscapes and War photography he is still making today. In this special conversation, McCullin explains why he views photography as a essential medium, saying, “I’ve always thought photography is not so much of an art form but a way of communicating and passing on information.”
Don McCullin, as laureate of the Photo London Master of Photography 2016 award, will be the subject of a special exhibition of his work during Photo London, presented in association with Hamiltons Gallery. Photo London will also present a rare opportunity to see Don McCullin in a public conversation at Somerset House with Simon Baker, Photography Curator at Tate.
