Carmen Benito & Mateo Barbuzzi
Club del Prado
Made during the three years Carmen Benito and Mateo Barbuzzi lived in Mexico City, Distrito Federal functions as a visual diary shaped by displacement and gradual familiarity. The book traces the process of inhabiting a new city, charting the shift from estrangement to belonging through everyday observations and repeated encounters. Rather than offering a comprehensive portrait of Mexico City, the work foregrounds partial views and subjective experience, positioning the city as something learned slowly and relationally. The risograph format reinforces the book’s diaristic quality, emphasising intimacy and process.
