Artist James Clifford Kent (YUMA studios) talks to Tom Seymour, editor-in-chief of The Art Journal, about his long-term, ongoing work in Cuba, his photographs on maternity wards during the pandemic, and his recent work in hospices in the UK.
James Clifford Kent is a London-based photographic artist whose research-led practice spans culture, health and social change. His award-winning work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts, and featured in BBC News, The Guardian and The Times. He is the author of Aesthetics and the Revolutionary City and the founder of YUMA studios.
Tom Seymour is the editor-in-chief of The Art Journal. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, Frieze, ARTnews and ArtReview, among others. He has held senior editorial roles at The Art Newspaper and Chanel.
