Ghost Sketch | Film Screening

Ghost Sketch tells the story of a female character who emerges from a lost film, wandering like a ghost in search of her past. In an old film studio filled with discarded film reels, she encounters other characters similarly forgotten by modernist film history. Born in an era before digitization, their existence faded as the film strips that once held them were abandoned. Inspired by the relationship between water drops and the ocean, the artist draws parallel to how AI image generation technology learns from and recreates vast seas of images. In this intersection between the graveyard of film images and the ocean of pixels in the new era, the ghost character is able to sketch her memories through AI, reconstructing that lost film that belongs to her.
