Image of the book Casa Piedra
Casa Piedra delves into the history of a site located in La Serena, Chile, known as Casa Piedra, which was a clandestine detention center operated by the National Information Center (CNI) during the Pinochet dictatorship. It is estimated that Casa Piedra was active between 1982 and 1985. During that period, its walls witnessed the most serious human rights violations: detention, torture, and various crimes against humanity perpetrated with the systematic aim of dismantling the opposition to the regime. This photobook, through images and testimonies, not only reconstructs the physical and emotional space of the site, but also serves as an act of symbolic reparation and a call to keep historical memory alive.
