Acclaimed Photography Films Added Public Programme

New for 2016, Photo London’s public programme will also show special screenings of films about photographers and by photographers.

Photo London is excited to reveal an exclusive screening of Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures alongside other acclaimed photography films including Bill Cunningham New York and Finding Vivian Maier. Shown in the intimate environment of the Screening Room at Somerset House, these beautifully-crafted documentaries paint detailed portraits of each photographer and their work. More information on these screenings can be found in the full Public Programme listings.

On Friday 20 May, there will also be an exclusive Sneak Preview of Katy Grannan’s first feature film The Nine screened in the larger venue of the Oondatje Wing Theatre at the National Portrait Gallery, in partnership with Photo London. The film depicts the hustling desperation of a small community living the antithesis of the American Dream on Modesto’s South Ninth Street (nicknamed “The Nine”).
