Berlin includes 135 duotone photographs by Jason Langer, plus essays by Bill Kouwenhoven, Shelly Kupferberg, and the photographer. The book presents Langer’s images of Berlin from 2009-2013, when he explored the city mostly on foot with two film cameras and black & white film. The American photographer looks to his roots to track traces of the Holocaust and the Cold War and imagined the freedom and creative expression of the Roaring Twenties.
