Kanthy Peng: Ground Sea 地浪

Ground Sea 地浪 – Kanthy Peng

Kanthy Peng’s Ground Sea is a meditative visual essay on depression, memory and familial distance. Structured as two interlinked sequences, the book moves from monochrome reenactments of myth and loss to colour images drawn from the artist’s personal archive. The narrative’s ebb and flow mirror the condition it describes, unfolding through repetition and quiet rupture. Design and text operate in tandem, treating typography and image as equal material. With poems by Geng Yao, Ground Sea evokes the sensation of internal weather, questioning where the border lies between personal fragility and collective exhaustion.
