Libuše Jarcovjáková
Untitled
Supersonico² presents a wide ranging view of the photographic archive of Libuše Jarcovjáková, bringing together images made across several decades alongside work produced shortly before publication. Conceived in collaboration with curator and editor Lucie Černá, the book extends the experimental framework established by the first Supersonico volume.
The publication juxtaposes analogue black and white photographs with colour digital images and photographs taken on mobile devices. Rather than separating these approaches, the book allows them to coexist within a fluid sequence, creating unexpected connections between different periods of the artist’s practice.
Jarcovjáková’s work has long been recognised for its candid observation of everyday life and its attention to the atmosphere of social environments. In Supersonico², that sensibility expands into a broader reflection on the photographic archive itself. Images from different contexts, years and formats intersect, forming a layered portrait of the artist’s ongoing engagement with her surroundings.
Designed by Superior Type, the publication treats the archive as an open structure rather than a closed retrospective. The result is a book that foregrounds process and experimentation, presenting photography as an evolving medium shaped by time, technology and lived experience.
