Nikon Presents: Lucy Hamidzadeh: Behind the Lens – The Art Of Street Photography

Lucy Hamidzadeh
Waiting around and observing may seem like a tedious task, but for photographer Lucy, this is how a shot is captured. For Lucy, the process of capturing a moment is so mentally justified, the entire session becomes a swift mixture of people, emotion, and elements, all merged into another day of shooting. Acutely interested in people’s stories, she finds comfort in how humans interact with each other and the environment. In this talk, Lucy will share her love for street photography, why she prefers to wander the streets without preconceived ideas and a sense of curiosity, skills she has developed as a street photographer, and take us on a visual journey in her first year as a Nikon Creator. Lucy’s work is candid and draws unexpected connections everywhere she aims her lens.
Ticket Price: £10.00
Please note, talk tickets are available for purchase and require a valid Photo London Day Ticket or Weekend Pass for the corresponding day.

Lucy Hamidzadeh
Lucy is a street photographer, moment collector and a reader of people who is constantly observing the world around her, whether that is in her home city of London, or when she is travelling to a new place. Forever curious, she is always wondering what the people she captures with her camera are experiencing, what emotions they are going through and the cultures they inhabit. The photos Lucy captures will always remain a mystery to her and anyone who views her work – and that’s the beauty of it. She wants for people to go beyond their senses, evoke emotion and inspire imagination, so that they too see the beauty and feel compelled to capture the moment, and to frame memories into visual existence.
Lucy is also the published photographer and author of ‘Unfinished Stories’ – an extensive collection of words and photographs that capture the daily lives of people going through their day, often without much thought or notice, but captured in an indelible way by Lucy’s eye and camera.
