Crab Girl in ‘A Recipe For Tragedy’

Petite Doll is a current artist in residence at Sarabande, practising across photography, video and digital art. Her work fuses self-portraiture and surrealism, exploring photography in a contemporary context. Through the art of self-portrait, she inhabits different characters, with meticulous attention to detail in the props and sets she handcrafts herself.

Petite Doll will be taking up residence as one of these characters – Crab Girl – a half-lobster, half-human creature who struggles to find her place in the world while missing the ocean she has left behind. Transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, the artist delves into the complexities of identity and the human need for connection in a world that can often feel isolating.
