Launched during the first edition of Photo London in 2015, the Emerging Photographer Award continues to spotlight new talents exhibiting at Photo London in partnership with Nikon. Previous award winners have included Daisuke Yokata, Thibaut Brunet and Tania Franco-Klein.

Exceptionally this year, work by the 2020 winner and a selection of finalists are exhibited at the Nikon stand, alongside a range of the latest products offering customers the opportunity to experience the latest cameras and extensive range of lenses.

2020 Emerging Photographer Award winner:
Marguerite Bornhauser, represented by Carlos Carvalho Arte Contemporânea (booth G06)

Exhibited finalists:
Thandiwe Muriu, represented by 193 Gallery (booth G19), winner of the 2020 Public Choice’s Award
Ibrahim Ahmed, represented by Tintera (booth D15)
Angela Blažanović, represented by Sid Motion (booth D12)
David Uzochukwu, represented by Galerie no.8 (booth D14)

The 2020 jury was composed by Simone Klein – Former Global Director of Print Sales at Magnum Photos – and Sofia Vollmer de Maduro – Director of Education, Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, collector and Curator Emeritus of the Alberto Vollmer Foundation collection – both part of the Photo London Curatorial Committee. They are joined by Fiona Shields, Head of Photography at the Guardian.
