terra incognita by Andrea C Morley PRIVATE VIEW at Carousel SEVEN DIALS

Carousel presents terra incognita; a series of beautiful, haunting, fragile landscapes by London based, fine art photographer Andrea C Morley – recorder and mapper of the real, the experiential and the imaginary.

 

A symbiosis of physical and psychic geography, terra incognita makes tangible the abstract: the distance of time and the indelible but fleeting impression.

 

Working with a 5×4 Sinar view camera using discontinued FUJI FP100c-45 film stock, Morley breaks from accepted conventions in contemporary technique and allows for a reduction of control in processing, the result – visceral, aesthetic, intuitive and emotional expression.
