A Global Roster of Leading Galleries and Emerging Voices

The fair’s exhibitor lineup features a strong mix of returning and first-time galleries, reflecting the breadth and depth of photographic practice today. Among those who have been part of Photo London since its inception are Robert Hershkowitz Ltd, showcasing historic images of London; Purdy Hicks Gallery, presenting a booth dedicated to women artists; and CAMERA WORK (Berlin), offering a curated selection of classic and contemporary masterpieces, including Irving Penn’s legendary work Mouth and Chris Levine’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

The solo presentations this year highlight the diversity of photographic expression. ROSEGALLERY (Santa Monica) returns with a showcase of Tania Franco Klein, the 2018 winner of the Photo London Emerging Photographer award. Galerie Bacqueville (Lille) presents unseen works from David de Beyter’s series The Skeptics, while Polka Galerie (Paris) dedicates its booth to platinum palladium prints by the fair’s inaugural Master of Photography, Sebastião Salgado.

The fair also embraces new perspectives with UP Gallery (Taiwan), which moves from the Discovery section to the main fair with a solo presentation of Mia Liu’s unique works. Podbielski Contemporary (Milan) will focus on the Middle East, featuring Shadi Ghadirian (Tehran), Rania Matar (Lebanon), Steve Sabella (Palestine), and Yuval Yairi (Israel), fostering a cross-cultural dialogue through photography.

Photo London Director, Sophie Parker, said: “While we are a photography specific fair, the works
exhibited go far beyond images hung on walls. Photography can include sculpture, painting,
performance, fabric, moving image, and even sound, and at Photo London we celebrate photography as
an art object in all its forms. For our tenth anniversary edition I’m incredibly excited to see such a strong
group of presentations by galleries from all over the world and I look forward to welcoming a mix of old
friends and new faces to Somerset House.”

Discovery and the New Positions Section: Championing Emerging Artists

A cornerstone of Photo London, the Discovery section, curated by Charlotte Jansen, continues to be a leading platform for emerging photographers and galleries. This year’s edition showcases around 20 galleries, including Mortal Machine Gallery (New Orleans), which presents Bee Gats’ raw, unfiltered portraits of Miami’s underground scene, and Victoria Law (London), featuring Venezuelan-born Lucia Pizzani’s works exploring colonialism and nature.

New for 2025, the Positions section, curated by Maria Sukkar, provides a vital platform for unrepresented photographers. Selected artists include Adam Rouhana, Giulia Mangione, Tim Rudman, Roberto Conde, Bibi Setareh Manavi, Kalpesh Lathigra, and Aikaterini Gegisian. This initiative allows collectors and patrons to support emerging talent in a traditional fair format, offering an invaluable stepping stone in their careers.
