Purdy Hicks Gallery was established in 1995 in East London, moving two years ago to its present location in South Kensington close to the Victoria & Albert Museum. Photography is a strong focus, with the Gallery pushing the boundaries of
contemporary practice, showcasing the work of artists including Takashi Arai, Susan Derges, Samuel Fosso, Tom Hunter, Leila Jeffreys, Edgar Martins, Jorma Puranen, Awoiska van der Molen and Bettina von Zwehl. The Gallery participates in a number of photography fairs including Paris Photo, Photo London and Unseen Amsterdam. Work by photographers represented by Purdy Hicks Gallery has been acquired by many major collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum London; Museum of Modern Art, New York and The Getty, Los Angeles.
