Founded in 2011 in Cologne, Galerie Bene Taschen represents some of the leading artists in photography. The gallery is committed to promoting its artists through regularly participating in international art fairs including Paris Photo, Art Basel and Art Cologne; and keeps an extensive exhibition program year-round.
In 2011, Galerie Bene Taschen made its debut with Los Angeles photographer Gregory Bojorquez exhibiting in Berlin; in 2013 it began representing New York documentary photographer Joseph Rodriguez; acclaimed Berlin-based photographer Miron Zownir joined the gallery's program in 2014; followed by American photographers Jamel Shabazz and Arlene Gottfried from New York in
2015. Starting in 2014, the gallery opened its permanent space in Cologne. In the next years leff Mermelstein, German painter Charlotte Trossbach, Larry Fink, Sebastião Salgado, Donnie Molls and Josef Achrer joined the gallery roster. In 2024, the gallery has moved to and expanded its gallery space in Lindenstr. 19. In 2026, German photographer Rudi Meisel joined the roster.
Beyond its regular exhibition program, the gallery continuously works on curating and coordinating institutional exhibitions and publishes catalogues with a range of projects by its represented photographers.
