Introducing Source – an innovative new section for solo presentations

Photo London introduces Source, a new curated section that celebrates solo presentations by galleries of artists with established cultural value. Curated by Tristan Lund, Source will debut as part of Photo London’s first edition at Olympia.

Solo artist stands have a reputation for creating lasting impressions through bold curation and visual clarity. With Source, Photo London encourages galleries to present projects that articulate both the intent and process of the artist’s work, reinforcing the fair’s commitment to craft, materiality and depth of engagement.

Source galleries will present solo exhibitions that offer visitors a cohesive understanding of an individual artist’s practice, whether focused on a single project or conceived as a broader career survey. The section will feature artists from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries whose cultural, political or social impact is recognised within their own communities and across the wider creative field.

Sophie Parker, Director of Photo London, says:
‘The move to Olympia – our new home in the heart of West London – gives us the chance to reimagine Photo London, building on the achievements of the last decade, and creating space for bold new initiatives. This is the perfect moment to invite Tristan to curate Source – a new section championing risk-taking galleries and offering collectors a deeper engagement with the photography ecosystem.’

Source will form a distinctive trail through the main section at Olympia, offering visitors a considered and cohesive experience of contemporary and historical photographic practice. Galleries interested in presenting a solo artist within Source are invited to get in touch with the Exhibitor Relations team to learn more about participation and selection criteria.
