Photo London launches new award for emerging photographers

Each edition of Photo London will feature awards that mark outstanding achievement and potential. From early-career photographers to the great masters, Photo London will provide a platform for the spectrum of photographic practices and we are we are delighted to announce a the John Kobal Residency Award for emerging photographers.

This Award is for the most outstanding emerging photographer to be presented at Photo London, and nominations can only be made by exhibitors. The successful photographer will be invited to complete a two-month (fully paid) residency in New York in autumn 2015 run by Residency Unlimited.

The Award selection panel will be chaired by Sean O’Hagan, and members will include William Ewing, Curator, Author and Former Director of the Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne; Sid Motion, Photo London; Tobia Bezzola, Director of the Folkwang Museum, Essen; Liz Jobey, Financial Times/John Kobal Foundation and Nathalie Anglès, Residency Unlimited. The winner will be announced on 21 May 2015 at the fair.
