This year the gallery willl be celebrating 'The Analogue Process'. In a world where digital is the norm and AI is creeping into our visual culture, i am showing work that celebrates the painstaking creative genius behind the actual printing of photography, the film itself. When the light and shadows, the colour and the paper is put together by hand, I believe that the final outcome is superior to the digital process.
The beauty inherent in Baud Postma's mammoth colour botanical prints, in Barry Kornbluh's rich black and white Nudes and the later 20th century silver gelatin prints from 19th century glass negatives by Braun and Cie are testament to the superior richness of the analogue process.
