The Photon Gallery was founded in 2003 to represent and promote photographic artists from Central and South Eastern Europe. The gallery showcases both established and emerging photographers and regularly collaborates with leading photographic institutions, galleries, and festivals across Europe. It also participates annually in major international art fairs, particularly those focused on photography. Photon is actively involved in Art Market Budapest, a regional fair where it serves as a partner. In addition to operating within the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Ljubljana, the gallery expanded internationally in 2013 with the opening of a space in Vienna until 2025. Since 2007, Photon has consistently participated in leading art fairs across Europe. These events play a crucial role in fulfilling the gallery’s mission to increase the international visibility of artists from Central and Eastern Europe.
